If you've been in a slump, need answers, or your life feels out of control, speaking to a therapist may be just the thing to get you through this time of your life. Therapists are not alike. We bring with us our personalities and skill sets, and that's ok! Maybe you've never been to a therapist. Maybe you've been to several. My focus is on your goals (so, start thinking about what you want out of therapy). I use a very cerebral approach to your healing. We will identify, dissect, and reformulate the way you see the world around you in a loving and compassionate environment. If you're ready for change, then I'm your gal.

I am dedicated to building a sustainable model of healing. My model of treatment will provide comfort, but also growth. I am going to encourage you to make some adjustments in your thinking and in your behaviors; because if nothing changes, nothing changes. We will laugh and we will cry - together!

Life is hard! A 40-year longitudinal study was published about a year ago in New Zealand studying thousands of people. They learned that it is RARE to NOT have depression at all in your life. So, it's more likely you'll have it for a while than not. But we are so stigmatized by "going to therapy". Let's get rid of that social narrative.  Cash price for individual therapy is $125/hour.  Check to see if we take your insurance.

We often offer a variety of therapy groups including grief, DBT, and a women's group.  We are currently featuring a DBT group. See below for more information.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people learn to manage their emotions and improve their relationships:

  • How it works

DBT uses a combination of individual and group therapy. In individual therapy, patients learn skills that can be applied to their daily lives. In group therapy, patients practice these skills and share their experiences with others. Patients also keep a diary to track their emotions and impulses, and review difficult situations in individual sessions.

  • What it teaches

DBT teaches skills such as emotion regulation, distress tolerance, self-respect, assertiveness, and treating others with care. It also helps patients learn to balance their own needs with the needs of others.

  • What it is

DBT is a talking therapy that combines cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with mindfulness and acceptance strategies. The goal is to help people develop skills to change unhelpful behaviors and patterns of thought, and to accept who they are.

  • Who it's for

DBT is often used to treat people with borderline personality disorder (BPD), but it can also help with other mental health conditions, such as depression, eating disorders, and substance use disorders.
